Irene Ballard, 93, died March 7, 2019 at Home Again Senior Living, Haviland, Kansas. She was born March 2, 1926 in rural Kiowa County, southwest of Haviland, to John Louis and Beulah Mae (Kimberly) Carson. A lifetime resident of the Haviland community, Irene graduated from Haviland High School and retired as the U.S. Postal clerk after 40 years of service.
